Since its inception in 1988, Paramount Health Care has become the area leader in growth, quality, service and member satisfaction.  A subsidiary of ProMedica Health System, Paramount offers a wide variety of health care products in 26 counties in northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan.  Today, Paramount is the largest health plan based in northwest Ohio with over 187,000 members and a network of more than 1,900 physicians and 34 hospitals.

In May 2003, Paramount received an Excellent level of accreditation from NCQA for the commercial HMO. Paramount’s Medicare product (Paramount Elite) and Medicaid product (Paramount Advantage) received a Commendable level of accreditation.  NCQA awards Excellent accreditation for service and clinical quality that meets or exceeds its rigorous requirements for consumer protection and quality improvement.  The Excellent status is NCQA’s highest accreditation status. Commendable accreditation is granted to health plans that deliver high quality care and service; their systems for consumer protection and quality improvement exceed NCQA’s rigorous requirements.
